We are pleased to bring you the news that Aimee Gedge has been appointed as Interim Manager of the Momentum Service.
Aimee has been part of the Momentum team since September 2016 as Supporting Excellence Officer. In that time, she has supported youth organisations across Norfolk to raise the standard of their work and ensure they are operating safely, and co-created Momentum’s Youth Work Network and Good Practice events. She has been a regular attendee at the Voluntary Sector Forum for Children, Young People and Families and has represented the Forum on the Restorative Approaches Strategic Board for the past two years.
Prior to joining Momentum, Aimee was a youth worker with YMCA Norfolk for almost five years, working on a range of projects in Great Yarmouth and Broadland.
Aimee will be bringing all this experience to her new role, in particular to the Norfolk Safeguarding Children’s Partnership Leadership Group and the Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership Board. She is looking forward to representing the VCSE youth sector at these meetings, particularly highlighting the impact and contribution of grassroots and community-led youth work.
As part of her new role, Aimee will be working closely with Voluntary Norfolk’s Communities team to refresh Voluntary Norfolk and Momentum’s membership and training offers, ensuring it remains a high-quality offer that is relevant to the needs of the whole sector. She will be championing youth volunteering to help young people find opportunities that will allow them to gain work experience and new skills. She will also continue to lead on the creation of a quality mark for Momentum and Voluntary Norfolk member groups, which is currently in a ‘pilot’ phase and will hopefully be introduced to members in early 2021.
Aimee will be supported by Lucy Hogg, Voluntary Norfolk’s Head of Voluntary Sector Infrastructure.
