Swan Youth Project: Activity Grant

Swan Youth Project used Momentum Small Grant to facilitate a Personal Safety course for local young people to attend. This was due to a number of worrying issues happening in their local town recently, including a rape, that had raised anxiety in the young people.

12 young people attended this, from year 8 to year 13.

Young people said that they felt their town had become ‘more scary’ and that doing this course made them feel more safe and confident. They reported that they now knew what to do if they found themselves in a dangerous situation.

After awarding the grant, West Norfolk YAB have expressed an interest in meeting the group to discuss the issues further and the YAB worker is planning to make contact with the leader of Swan Youth Project.
